First, you could dilute a tablespoon of the vinegar in a gallon of distilled water for a refreshing and invigorating spin on a glass of water. Mix a tablespoon of the vinegar and a tablespoon of honey in a glass of hot water for an intense pick-me-up morning drink. Lastly, you can find many different recipes for salad dressings that employ raw apple cider vinegar. This amazing vinegar is definitely a metabolism booster in addition to its other multiple awesome qualities.
Lemon is another in the metabolism boosters club. Use it pretty much in the same way that was recommended for raw apple cider vinegar.
Cayenne and other Spices
Perhaps one of the best natural metabolism boosters known to man, cayenne is often employed in international cuisine. But it can also be used as an amazing supplement. Taking a quarter teaspoon of cayenne in cold water on a full stomach (or with food)three times a day will increase your metabolic rate by leaps and bounds. Additionally, you can sprinkle the tasty spice on nearly anything you want–from mac n cheese to spaghetti to bean and bacon soup. And no, I don’t eat on ice cream or any dessert, for that matter. If you’re looking for another spicy addition to your life, consider using ground ginger, cinnamon, or garlic cloves.
Green tea is known to increase your metabolism. Drink it as a refreshing tea whenever you get the “cozy” urge.
Other foods are known for their metabolism-boosting properties that lie in the texture or fiber content of the food. For example, if you eat a lean cut of meat in contrast to the most tender cut available, you will burn up to 30% more calories. Instead of eating a soft white bread, opt for a chewy whole wheat for the same reason.
Perhaps my favorite of all foods that boost metabolism is the simple, everyday, pure glass of water. Simply drinking enough water every day is such a benefit to those with slow metabolisms. It will automatically increase your metabolism in addition to a host of other things. You can be confident that this simple habit will help you boost your metabolsim day after day.
